James H. Thomason Library

Library Policy for Summer Camps

The Thomason Library's main purpose is to support the curriculum and research needs of the College community. The library provides workstations for research in the Reference area on the main level. Presbyterian College students, faculty, and staff have priority at these workstations at all times. Wireless laptop computers are not available for check-out by campers.

Because Thomason Library serves an adult/college-age population, we do not filter or block any internet sites. Also, we do not organize or collect material according to what may or may not be appropriate for anyone under college age. Therefore, all camp participants must be accompanied by an adult/counselor whenever they are in the Library. No camp groups will be allowed to check out materials from the Library.

If a camp needs to conduct research, utilize the Library's information resources, reference books, databases, or make use of the Library's internet workstations, the camp coordinator must contact the Library in advance to schedule a group Library visit. Instruction sessions for groups are available when requested well in advance.
