Life after PC

What can a mathematics major mean to you?

In addition to fostering analytical reasoning and problem-solving ability which employers value, the study of mathematics opens a wide variety of career doors.

Over the past few years, math majors from PC have entered a variety of fields. Some have entered graduate school to do graduate work in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, and civil engineering.

Recent graduates have completed doctoral studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Ohio State University, and Arizona State University and masters studies at Clemson University, the College of Charleston, Georgia State University, and Wake Forest University.

Several graduates have taken jobs teaching in public schools, while others have chosen careers in business, government, or industry, including such areas as accounting and environmental research.
