WPCX

WPCX 97.1 FM is PC's freeform radio station that broadcasts from the Springs Student Center. All DJs are students and faculty. Any student can apply and with some simple training have his or her own show or co-host with a friend. Even though the student center isn’t always open, WPCX is always on the air, with a 24-hour rotation program that plays music hand-picked by our own DJs between shows and through the night. Partnered with SGA, WPCX also hosts free, on-campus concerts featuring local, underground, and on-campus performers. In addition, the PC community can catch broadcasts of Blue Hose basketball and football games throughout the athletic year on WPCX as well as WLBG 860 AM.

Mission Statement

At WPCX, our goal is to provide a broadcast communications service for the students, faculty, and staff of Presbyterian College, as well as the members of the Clinton community.  As a student-run organization, we will first and foremost strive to serve as an outlet of creative expression for PC students and faculty who have an interest in the broadcasting of music and news over the radio. WPCX will also contribute to the larger community of Clinton and the PC students and faculty unassociated with the radio station by functioning as a source of entertainment and information.  In all aspects of our service, we also agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the radio broadcast code set forth by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), from whom we have acquired our license for FM radio broadcasts.
