Experiential Learning

Study Abroad

Students desiring to study abroad have a variety of options. Whether you’re looking to travel for a month, semester, or full year, the Department of Modern Foreign Languages and the Office of International Programs will help you find the right study abroad program for you.

The Department of Modern Foreign Languages regularly offers Maymester Programs to destinations around the world.

Typically, these two-week-long trips occur in May, after the conclusion of the spring semester, and allow students to become acquainted with a foreign culture after engaging in pre-travel coursework related to their destination.

Recently, the Department of Modern Foreign Languages has offered study abroad trips to Guatemala, Mexico, Chile, Paraguay and Argentina, and Spain.

 Carol International House

Adding to the on-campus experience is the Carol International House, PC’s first residence hall designed with the living-learning concept in mind. It includes two spacious lounge areas with a fireplace, a full kitchen and dining area, a reading area, and a classroom with extensive instructional and informational technology.

Among the facility’s 33 residents are international students and PC students who have studied abroad and wish to keep that international exposure alive. The mix of cultures and experiences, coupled with ambitious programming, makes the Carol International House the center of international experience on campus.
