CHORAL ENSEMBLES
Choir at PC is a really big deal.
The PC Choir is the select touring choir of the college - and, while membership is open to all PC students, regardless of major, an audition is required and much is expected of the singers.
The PC Choir sings off-campus about 5-6 times every year (about 2-3 weekends per term) not counting the annual spring tour. Tours alternate between local, regional, and international. Over the past several years, in addition to our regular repertoire, the Choir has participated in performances of the Duruflé Requiem, Carl Orff's Carmina burana, and the Ninth Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven.
Out of the PC Choir are chosen the Chamber Singers - a 15-voice chamber choir that frequently is featured on concerts of the large group.
Perhaps the most well-known performances by the PC Choir are the annual Christmas at PC concerts, given during the first weekend of December annually. Presented twice over the weekend, on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, these SRO performances are the finest of their kind - musically, artistically, and inspirationally.
Dr. Porter Stokes is the conductor of the PC Choir.
CANTARE! is our men's choir - they meet twice each week with conductor Ron Davis.
ARMONIA is our women's choir - Dr. Stokes conducts them and they also meet twice each week. Both groups currently rehearse in the college chapel.
