Frank Watson, Adjunct Woodwind Instructor, retired, in 2006, from a 34 year Middle School Band teaching career. Mr. Watson’s former students can be found in such diverse musical organizations as the Pittsburgh Symphony and United States Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps in Washington, DC. Several former students are also Band Directors across the state of South Carolina. Mr. Watson has been a member of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra for more than 43 years, and also a member of the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Since his retirement, Mr. Watson has taught at the South Carolina Governor’s School for Arts and Humanities and the Lawson Academy of Converse College. A versatile woodwind performer, Frank has played with such notable performers as The Four Tops and the Temptations, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Crystal Gayle and Glenn Campbell, touring Broadway musical productions of West Side Story and Chicago, Bob Hope, Red Skelton and many others. An avid golfer, Mr. Watson was the 2002 Spartanburg County Senior Amateur Champion, and spends several days each week on the links.
