Mrs. Gillespie-Black began playing piano at age 5. She studied with Mrs. Margaret Menz in Woodruff until the age of 13, when she began lessons through the pre-college program at Converse College. She went on to study piano pedagogy and piano performance with Dr. Douglas Weeks at Converse College. She currently serves as director of music ministries and church accompanist at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Mauldin. She has also been a member of the GLOW chamber orchestra. A native of Woodruff, she currently resides in Mauldin with her husband, Paul, and her 14 year old twins, Megan and Matthew Stribble.
