Music Honorees perform at Honors Recital

The Presbyterian College Department of Music recently honored seven students during its annual Honors Music Recital. Chosen each spring by the faculty of the Department of Music, honorees must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors and may be nominated if they have appeared as a soloist on at least one Music @ Half-Past performance or a solo junior or senior recital.
“These seven students were chosen through a rigorous selection process,” said Dr. Porter Stokes, Music Department Chair and Director of Choral Activities. “They represent the best in musical performance at PC.”
The honorees include:
- Amanda Eason, alto saxophone, a sophomore majoring in English with a minor in music. She is from Osceola Mills, PA.
- Hannah Lea, piano and voice, a sophomore majoring in Music Education. She is from Augusta, Georgia.
- Andrew Morehead, organ and voice, a junior majoring in Sacred Music. He is from Lyman, SC.
- Emily Howerton, voice, a sophomore majoring in Music Education. She is from Greenville, SC.
- Emily Monk, soprano, a junior majoring in Vocal Performance. She is from Florence, SC.
- Amy Jessee, a junior majoring in English with minors in secondary education and music. From North Augusta, SC, Amy plays violin and has been involved in PC's music department since freshman year.
- Taylor Randall, a junior majoring in Music Performance. She is from Clinton, SC.
