Students research as PC Summer Fellows

Nineteen PC students will conduct research on campus this summer during the PC Summer Fellows program, beginning June 8.

This year, students will delve further into their academic interests, researching topics such as “The influence of mass media upon popular American attitudes toward China,” “Doppelgangers and the creation of monstrosity,” and “The effect of plasmid DNA size on binding to Ag and Au nanoparticles.” A complete list of researchers, topics, and advisors is below.

“This is a unique opportunity that PC offers to our students,” said history professor Dr. Anita Gustafson. “The new focus on senior capstones has increased the emphasis on student research.”

The PC Summer Fellows program also provides students the opportunity to collaborate with professors while learning about the research process.

Further, the program affords students the opportunity to present research to various audiences. More than half of last year’s researchers were selected to present Summer Fellows research at various local, regional, and national conferences.
