Church youth leaders are celebrated, awarded

Nearly 700 middle school and high school youth came to campus for PC's annual Youth Day celebration. Among the participants were 30 nominees for the Outstanding Church Youth Leader Award.  The nominees for the award were high school juniors and seniors who had demonstrated substantial leadership in their local churches and at the presbytery level.

Caroline Krcelic, a senior from Easley, SC and member of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Greenville, was named the 2009 Outstanding Church Youth Leader Award winner. Krcelic received a $10,000 PC scholarship as part of the award.

Jacob Zimmerman, a member of First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, SC, was named the first runner-up. Kati Newsome, a senior from Matthews Presbyterian Church in Matthews, NC, was named second runner-up. Zimmerman and Newsome are pictured in the top left picture below.

Each nominee for the award receives a contingent $500 annual scholarship. The Outstanding Church Youth Leader award winner and nominees were recognized during halftime of the football game at Bailey Memorial Stadium.
