Student Orientation Schedule

Please note this is a TENTATIVE schedule and is subject to change. Call the Orientation office at (864) 833-8380 with any questions.


9:00 am – 11:00 am          
Orientation Check-in
Once you have checked-in for orientation, please do the following (as applicable):

  • Drop off your overnight bag
  • Get your PC ID picture made (you will receive your ID when you arrive in August)
  • Stop by the Scotsman Corner from to purchase PC memorabilia
  • Take your Foreign Language placement exam (if needed)*
    *If you have taken more than four classes of a foreign language, French, German, or Spanish Five, or you speak a language other than English, meet with a language professor to validate your general education requirement and determine upper-level placement at the 202 level or 300-level

11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Opening Session
The College Administration, faculty, and staff, along with the 2015 OL Team, welcome you to Presbyterian College. You will also meet your OL during this session.

12:45 pm – 1:45 pm         
OL group meeting  #1
Each new student is assigned to a small group facilitated by an OL. You can find your small group letter on the top of your nametag. During this small group session, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Get to know other new students
  • Discover how to navigate the orientation schedule
  • Learn about resources PC offers to ensure student success
  • Discuss your fears about coming to college
  • Get the “inside scoop” from your OL

1:45 pm  
Find your family and together attend the Academic Discipline Session at 2:00 pm and then meet with and Academic Advisor at 3:15 pm

Meet with an Academic Advisor
Academic Advisors help you navigate your way through college to meet your goals. During this session you and your parent/family member will meet with an advisor to answer questions you may have about PC, the curriculum, or just about life as a student at PC.

PC Blue Hose LIVE!
Join us for this humorous and informative show hosted by the OLs. During this show you will discover what college is like, what resources are available and how to use them and finally what to expect during your first year as a Blue Hose.

Turn in your room key and check-out of your residence hall room
Please return your key to the staff in the lobby of Georgia/Belk. If you are not able to store your items in your car, no problem!

Meet your family and get ready to see where you are going to live in the fall!

10:45 am                              
Visit the residence hall you will be living in this fall and see one of the rooms!
Take pictures, write down room dimensions (you will receive your very own PC tape measure), and picture yourself in your new space!

See You Soon Reception
This isn’t “Goodbye”, but rather, “See You Soon”. The OLs and PC Administration want to give you a proper Blue Hose send off.
