Parents and Families

During the parent and family orientation you will learn more about PC, the classes and the PC culture. You will also have an opportunity to meet with your student’s academic advisor that afternoon,  watch your student take the Honor Roll pledge (a PC tradition), interact with the Interim Provost and Dean of Students, and participate in various other events including a dinner with PC faculty and staff. The parents and families orientation will conclude at 7:00 pm that evening. At that time, you do not have say “goodbye”, but rather “see you soon” to your student as he/she begins their next adventure at PC!

We will post the orientation schedule on our website as soon as it is finalized.

Live the PC tradition . . .Eager students. Move-In Day. Calls home for money. Student recitals. Parents Day.  Alumni reunions. Athletic events.  Bringing new friends home.  Calls home for money.  Elation about grades.  The excitement of a new boyfriend/girlfriend. Disappointment about grades.  Calls home for money.  The devastation of a breakup.  Your children studying abroad. Your children becoming independent.  And so much more.

Whether you are sending your first or only child off to college, your last child, or a child somewhere in between, this is an exciting time and one filled with anticipation of the many experiences to come.  Recognizing the critical role that you play in the lives of our new students, we have designed this website to engage you in a partnership with the faculty, staff, and students that will assist with a smooth transition to PC.

Each year at new student orientation we are thrilled to welcome a new class of students who will become part of the PC family.  You should know that we are equally as excited to welcome you to the family.  Just as we encourage our new students to experience all that PC has to offer, we hope that you, too, will take advantage of the many family-friendly activities we sponsor so that students can interact with you and so that you can see how much your sons and daughters are growing.

If you have questions or concerns that are not addressed on this website, please contact us at 864-833-8381.  We look forward to meeting you and wish you all the best as you prepare for this next stage in the lives of your daughters and sons.
