Religious Life

We hope that all students will stop by the chaplain's office from time to time.

The chaplain and staff nurture the religious and spiritual life of the PC community, creating and supporting opportunities for worship, fellowship, and service. As a church-related PC(USA) liberal arts college, PC supports an active and ecumenical ministry with a strong witness to Christian faith and service, a challenge to explore and examine one's own spiritual journey, and a campus environment of hospitality which values diversity and differences in tradition and faith perspectives.

Religious life on campus is celebrated on the premise that we are all children of God, whatever our creed, heritage, or beliefs. Chaplain-sponsored ministries are open to all students, regardless of religious affiliation. PC’s chaplain serves as pastor to the college community and is available to all for pastoral conversations, counseling, spiritual direction, and program leadership and support.

Students develop their religious beliefs by voluntarily taking part in regular campus chapel services, fellowship groups, and community-wide retreats. Regular worship services are conducted in Edmunds Hall and at the outdoor chapel. Students assist the Chaplain in planning and leading all services and other fellowship and service opportunities.

Religious organizations

Presbyterian College wants students to understand the needs of the world and translate that understanding into service and action. Student Volunteer Services, or SVS, has offered students opportunities for service for more than 40 years. With a variety of service opportunities, everyone can find a way to serve.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Canterbury Club, Campus Crusade, Campus Outreach, and Presbyterian Student Association are some of the organizations on campus. These organizations meet weekly and are led by students on campus.

Other ministries and services include: Bluefish (student ministry team), Soul Feast (dinner and discussion group), At the Well (women in ministry initiative), Common Grounds, and Day by Day (devotions).
