Admissions

The 2010 Application Cycle is now closed.  The 2011 Application Cycle will begin during the summer of 2010.

Overview

Information that will be considered regarding admission includes:

Grade point average on required pre-pharmacy courses

Overall GPA

Score on the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT)

Written communication skills (included in the PCAT)

Two (2) letters of recommendation (at least one from a pharmacist)

Volunteerism, community service, activism, and leadership

A successful criminal background check.

Preference will be given to applicants who complete their pre-pharmacy requirements at Presbyterian College, are from rural or underserved areas of South Carolina, demonstrate leadership experience, have pharmacy work experience, have a history of volunteerism and community service, hold a previous degree, and/or enhance the diversity of the student body.

 

Based upon the above information, applicants will be selected to visit campus for an interview. Any student who has completed all the pre-pharmacy coursework at Presbyterian College with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above and fulfills all requirements for admission is guaranteed an interview with the School of Pharmacy. During the interview visit, students will receive a tour of the pharmacy facilities and Presbyterian College, complete a writing sample, and interview with a faculty member and healthcare practitioner. Students are responsible for arranging accommodations and travel to Clinton, SC for the interview process. Admission is competitive and selection for an interview does not guarantee admission.
