Why pharmacy?

The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that by 2020 there will be a 157,000 shortfall in pharmacists with the deficit greatest in the Southeastern United States. That means us - all those who call this part of the country home.

Combining PC’s reputation for excellence in health sciences and our mission of service, we have built a school that focuses on improving the healthcare of our neighbors, focused particularly on the rural and the underserved patient populations. Our graduates will be a first line of healthcare to their communities. No matter how healthcare evolves over the next several years, pharmacists will be key health care providers for all.

A school of this caliber needs outstanding pharmacy faculty, state-of-the-art lab equipment, and facilities that enhance and expand the teaching arena to cover the broad spectrum of health care as it continues to evolve. The School’s leadership needs the resources to develop new curriculum, recruit students, and create a culture distinctive in its focus, resources, and commitment to service.

The Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy opened in 2010. Our most immediate task is raising $10 million to cover initial operating expenses.
