Summer Fellows

Often the most valuable experiences are found working hand in hand with a professor on cutting edge research, reveling in the opportunity to explore a particular subject or area of interest in depth and detail.

PC’s Summer Research Fellows program allows students to work directly with a faculty member during the summer on an area of research interest to both. And what they do doesn’t just stay on campus - more than half of last year’s researchers were selected to present Summer Fellows research at various local, regional, and national conferences.

What types of things constitute “research?” Almost any subject in the world. In the past students have conducted research in such areas as “The human rights of non-citizens: The moral teachings of the Presbyterian Church” and “Detecting the spread of genetic modification to non-genetically modified plants.”

Summer research not only looks impressive on a resume, it provides another key layer of excellence in the educational experience a student gains at PC. Your gifts to endowment for this program may help the world- one day the skills a student learned over the summer may solve an old history puzzle, lay the foundation for a Pulitzer prize-winning novel, or pave the way to a cure for cancer.
