The Nest is an intentional Christian community that was established on PC’s campus in Reynold’s Hall in 2012. The Nest is a community, friendship, and family founded in the love of Christ, which extends past the walls of the dorm, through the students, faculty, and staff at PC, and as far out into the world as it may travel.
The Nest is not meant to be a community set apart. It is a sanctuary, a safe haven, a refuge, open to all people. It is a place that people may come together; to gather, to sing, to eat, to pray, to laugh, and to cry. It is a place where we promise to meet people with open arms and warm hearts, where we encourage acceptance and love over discrimination and hatred, and where we believe we are brought together by God’s love and that there is always a place at the table.
Psalm 84:1-4 reads, How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, indeed it faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. Happy are those who live in your house, ever singing your praise.
The Nest hosts campus worship every Thursday night. We invite you to come and spend time with us, worship with us, tell your story, and share in God’s abounding love. The definition of a nest is “a snug retreat or refuge; resting place; home.” To the students living in the Nest, this community is our nesting place, but our desire is that you will make it your home.
