When will I receive my room assignment and find out who my roommate is?
New student room assignments are released in July prior to the semester beginning in August.
May I request a roommate or a specific residence hall?
You will have the opportunity to request a specific roommate. Each person will have to request each other in order to be paired. Incoming new students are able to state their residence hall preferences. Residence life makes every effort to grant these requests, but cannot guarantee them.
Where are laundry facilities located and what is the cost?
Laundry facilities are located in each residence hall. Students do not have to pay to use the laundry machines. These costs are built into the fees paid to the College.
Are the residence halls locked?
Each student is issued an access card and room key, which gives him or her access to the residence hall building and room, respectively. If students lose these items, they should report this information to the Office of Residence Life. Students must pay a fee to have their access cards and room keys replaced.
Will my room have an Internet connection?
Yes, all residence hall rooms are internet ready through a network.
Are there computer labs in the residence halls?
No, computer labs are located in academic buildings on campus.
Which buildings have hall baths?
Smyth and Bailey Halls. Clinton 4th Floor also has hall baths. All other residence halls for new students have suite-style baths.
Do the residence halls have visitation hours?

Do the residence halls have quiet hours?
The period from 8:00pm until 6:30am is designated as quiet hours in residence halls and on campus.
Are the residence halls smoke-free?
Residence halls are smoke-free.
What items should I leave at home?
The following items are prohibited in all PC Residence Halls:
- Candles/any open flame device
- Fireworks
- Firearms (including bb guns and pellet guns)
- Halogen lamps
- Holiday/decorative lights have some restrictions (see Knapsack)
- Personal air conditioners
- Open coil burners (hot plates)
- Griddles or grills
- Regular toasters
- Electric hamburger cookers (Foreman grills)
- Indoor grills or Hibachis
- Outside gas grills (except at some senior housing areas)
- Any high heat appliance capable of heating grease to a boiling point
***(please note that alcoholic beverages are prohibited in any residence hall room where all occupants are not 21)
What size bed sheets will I need?
Beds in Georgia Hall and Bailey Hall are extra long twin beds. All other building have standard size twin beds.
