Study Spanish at PC

At PC, you'll enjoy classes that are just the right size for you to practice and hone your communication skills in Spanish: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. And you'll find that your professors are committed to providing you with the attention you deserve as you learn the Spanish language and culture.

Study Abroad

The study abroad program at PC provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to become immersed in Spanish culture. In fact, it is recommended that you spend one semester or your junior year in Spain. You can choose to live in Seville, Granada, or Madrid.

Or you can choose to participate in a ten-week program in Merida, Yucatan, or Mexico. Both options are available through PC's partnership with Central College in Iowa.

Independent Travel and Study

You're not limited to these programs, however. With careful guidance from department faculty and college administrators, you can develop your own travel and study programs.

Amity Scholars

Interested in testing your Spanish without leaving the United States? You can learn from four Amity Scholars -- fellowship students from foreign countries who spend the year living at PC. They'll be glad to help you with your conversational skills.

Carol International House

Adding to the on-campus experience is the Carol International House, PC's first residence hall designed with the living-learning concept in mind. It includes two spacious lounge areas with a fireplace, a full kitchen and dining area, a reading area, and a classroom with extensive instructional and informational technology.

Among the facility's 33 residents are the aforementioned Amity Students and PC students who have studied abroad and wish to keep that international exposure alive. The mix of cultures and experiences, coupled with ambitious programming, makes the Carol International House the center of international experience on campus.

Student discovers Spain, herself

It has been amazing to be able to come here and visit some of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Only in Barcelona is one able to find the works of Gaudi, a famous architect in Spain. Some of his works include Parc Guell, a public park; Casa Batlo, an amazing house that seems to have come out from a fairy tale; La Pedrera, a building made of white stone that defies the laws of gravity; and La Sagrada Familia, a church which Gaudi spent his last years working on.
