9.0 Hazing

Hazing is not consistent with the mission of Presbyterian College and the campus culture of honor.  For this reason, hazing by an individual student, a registered student organization, an athletic team, or any other campus organization is prohibited.  Individual students and/or organizations found responsible for hazing shall be subject to sanctions that, depending on the circumstances, may include suspension or expulsion.

Presbyterian College’s Greek letter organizations endorse the College’s definition of hazing and also follow an independently endorsed hazing policy that is regulated by the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils (see College Statement on Greek Life.)

9.1         Any action taken or any situation created, whether on or off campus,

to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment or ridicule

Note:  The Knapsack may be amended as the College deems appropriate.

Student Conduct Tip:

Something that may seem like a simple prank to you, may actually be a form of hazing.  When in doubt, ask yourself if you have disclosed all the details of the activity and if you have given each participant the opportunity to decline participation without penalizing that person.
