4.0 Requesting funds from the SGFC
(Bylaws - Artice III of the SGA Constitution)
Section I: a. Any RSO, in good standing with the SGA, may request funding from SGA. In order to do so, the RSO’s senator must fill out an SGFC Funding Request Form; have the form signed by the RSO’s president and faculty advisor. The document must be due to the SGA Treasurer no later than the Wednesday before the next meeting of the SGA House of Representatives.
b. The SGFC will convene a meeting between Wednesday and Friday, prior to the next SGA House meeting. This will be to determine the merit and feasibility of the request. The SGFC reserves the right to change the amount requested by the petitioning RSO if a change is warranted by the SGFC.
c. If the request is approved by the SGFC, then it will await approval by the SGA House of Representatives. If the SGA House of Representatives approves the funding request by a simple majority, then it will go before the Vice President for Student Life for approval. The Vice President for Student Life will judge each request with the advice of the SGA Treasurer. If the Vice President for Student Life signs off on the approved funding request, then the Director of Financial Systems and Special Projects will be notified and funds will be transferred at his/her convenience. If said request is denied by the SGFC, it is dead and dismissed, yet as stated above, the SGFC may change amount requested if merit is found, but funding feasibility is not. The SGA House of Representatives and the Vice President for Student Life may also kill the request. At which time, the petitioning RSO may re-submit form to the SGA Treasurer before the Wednesday of the next House meeting.
Section II: a. Any RSO must have an organization account number in order to receive funds. Each RSO is required to contact the Treasurer and Director of Resource Planning at time of its approval by the SGA and the faculty of PC for the organization’s account number.
b. No funds will be transferred to any RSO who does not have or know their account number. It is the responsibility of the RSO to include account numbers on the SGFC Funding Request Form.
