Local business owner stresses ethics
Harry Croxton’s PC diploma hangs in the conference room of his business, Croxton-Gray Commercial Properties, in Greenville, SC.
“It is oftentimes the topic of conversation when clients notice it and comment that they were unaware that I attended PC,” Croxton, also the company’s president, said. “I’m always pleased to make others aware that I am a PC graduate, which sometimes serves as a convenient segway into talking about PC.”
Croxton, who graduated in 1989, believes that his education is important to his success. He majored in Business Administration while at PC. Along the way, he learned about honor and integrity.
“While I came to PC with a strong moral compass instilled in me by my parents, my PC experience certainly strengthened those convictions,” he said. “I am a strong believer in always doing the right thing, and PC reinforced that belief system through its Honor Code as well as through the overall atmosphere of mutual respect that was and is pervasive on the campus.”
Croxton says he uses lessons on honor every day on his job.
“As a business owner, I am faced with moral and ethical dilemmas on a daily basis,” he said. “My PC experience helps guide me through tough personal and business situations and allows me to offer sound advice to my staff.”
