Presbyterian Home Chinese New Year

Presbyterian Home Chinese New Year

On February 5th 2014, a Wednesday evening, PC CI staff brought a Chinese New Year celebration to the Presbyterian Home in Clinton, South Carolina. The staff of the Presbyterian Home welcomed the CI staff with decorations, festivities, and traditional Chinese food.

To begin the festivities Dr. Jin gave a lecture on the Chinese Spring Festival including preparations and activities that it entails. Bin Li then gave a tea ceremony performance and ethnic dancing performance. Fen Wang followed with a square dance and a tai-chi fan dance.

In total it was an hour and a half of fun and celebration. It was a great way to introduce some Chinese Culture to the residents of the Presbyterian Home. The residents themselves were very excited as well to experience and be a part of this experience. It was a great time and we can’t wait until the next Chinese New Year.
