Associate Professor of Music Dr. Christian Elser took to the stage in Tulsa, OK with the LOOK Musical Theatre as the evil Judge Turpin in “Sweeny Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street.”

James Watts, a reviewer for the Tulsa World proclaimed that Dr. Elser was “…just about flawless as the evil Judge Turpin. Elser makes this character practically vibrant with villainy and menace, especially when his thoughts turn to “Pretty Women,” in particular “Johanna” — his performance of this song is maybe the most chilling scene in the whole show.”

Dr. Elser serves as the Voice Division Director, Director of the PC Musical Theatre & Opera and teaches applied voice, music history, opera workshop and vocal methods.
