Homecoming Choral Gala will showcase PC ensembles

A Homecoming Choral Gala featuring PC’s choral ensembles will be presented on Thursday, Oct. 25.

The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Edmunds Hall on the PC campus. It is free and open to the public.

“We encourage those in the area who haven’t heard the choral ensembles at PC to attend, and we especially welcome those alumni who have arrived in Clinton a bit early for the Homecoming activities,” said Dr. Ron Davis, chair of the Department of Music.

The Homecoming Choral Gala will feature the PC Choir, the Cantare! Quartet, and Bella Voce. The groups will sing a variety of sacred choral works drawn from the Renaissance to modern times, Davis said.

The PC Choir is 42 members strong and comprised of students from a wide variety of majors across the campus.

This semester they have already performed for PC’s Convocation Ceremony in August and will also perform for the alumni meeting Oct. 27, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC on Nov. 11, and for the annual Christmas at PC production Dec. 1 and 2.

Both the Cantare! Quartet (men) and Bella Voce (women) are performing for this concert, as well as the annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner sponsored by several local Presbyterian churches, which takes place on the campus of Thornwell Home for Children.

These groups will also be performing in the Christmas at PC production in December.
