$700,000 raised toward $1 million goal to support students, honor the Statons

President and First Lady Staton | Presbyterian College | Clinton SC

Two weeks ago, the Robert E. ’68 and Phyllis B. ’18(h) Staton Family Endowed Scholarship was established to support first-generation students.

Two weeks later, a campaign to support students and honor the Statons has nearly reached its goal. $700,000 of $1 million has been raised to support students via the Robert E. ’68 and Phyllis B. ’18(h) Staton Family Endowed Scholarship.

“There is no better way to honor Bob and Phyllis than to support what they often refer to as the heartbeat of PC, our students,” said Jacki Berkshire, the vice president of advancement at PC.

“The willingness of so many to show their appreciation to these two selfless leaders by supporting current and future students is awe-inspiring.”

The campaign to honor the Statons concludes on December 31, the date President Staton will officially retire.

All gifts to the PC Scholarship Fund, Scotsman Club Scholarship Fund or the Robert E. ’68 and Phyllis B. ’18 (h) Staton Family Scholarship Fund will count toward the goal.
