A message from President vandenBerg and Dr. Erin McAdams

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

The independent investigation into the events of February 11 is proceeding steadily. PC’s use of an impartial, external professional is enabling this process to be as quick, efficient, and accurate as possible. The college remains committed to severe consequences for individuals found responsible.

We are encouraged by the myriad expressions of support from PC students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni for our visitors from Howard University and for women and people of color in the PC community. We are particularly proud of the leadership of our Multicultural Student Union (MSU), who coordinated an opportunity for PC’s campus to walk in solidarity with athletes of color and to demonstrate our collective support for Howard University’s student athletes and coaches.

The Unity March will take place on Thursday, February 24 at 11 a.m., beginning at Neville Hall on the main campus, and will proceed to Templeton (see flyer here). We – President Matt vandenBerg and Faculty Chair Erin McAdams – are honored by the invitation to participate in this wonderful event. We will do so, and we invite all of our faculty and staff colleagues to join us in supporting and amplifying this important message of campus unity and equality.

Working together as one campus community, PC will seize this moment to truly live out and demonstrate our values, especially our commitment to seek justice, to defend and honor the humanity and inherent value of all people, and to walk boldly on the path to growth and reconciliation.

Sincerely,
Matthew vandenBerg, EdD, CFRE
