Presbyterian College selects AVI Foodsystems as new food service partner

Presbyterian College has selected AVI Foodsystems as its new partner for campus food service and hospitality, effective May 27.

Headquartered in Warren, Ohio, AVI is the largest privately held and family-owned and operated food service company in the United States. The college’s decision follows a nationwide bid and selection process with participation from campus administrators and faculty.

AVI’s prepared-from-scratch food service program at Greenville Dining Hall is designed to elevate and transform the culinary experience for PC students and community.

AVI features crafted dishes using fresh ingredients, including house-smoked and rotisserie-roasted deli meats, plant-based, and homemade baked breads, pastries and desserts. The dining program will also provide students with favorite menu items such as house-made pizza dough, pasta, hand-cut French fries and hand-breaded chicken tenders. Retail options in Springs Campus Center will feature Boar’s Head Deli, Fresh Market, and Starbucks.

“We welcome AVI Foodsystems to our campus,” said Jason Koenig, director of auxiliary services at PC. “Through this partnership with AVI, our community will be the recipients of an exceptional food service program that will both meet and exceed students’ expectations.”

Additionally, AVI will introduce a new restaurant for the campus and community, Freshëns Fresh Food Kitchen at 112 Musgrove Street in downtown Clinton. Freshëns showcases fresh and healthy menu selections, including grilled flatbreads, tossed salads, toasted wraps, and globally inspired rice bowls. This restaurant also serves fresh-blended smoothies featuring 100 percent clean ingredients.

“We are honored to partner with and welcome Presbyterian College to our AVI family,” said Vince Lombardi, AVI’s Executive Vice President for Education. “The AVI team is enthusiastic and committed to enhancing the student dining experience with our dynamic culinary program, showcasing fresh food experiences through culture-focused and authentic cuisines.”

AVI replaces Aramark as Presbyterian’s previous food service provider. AVI commits to a smooth transition of services which includes all current Aramark employees being transitioned into available opportunities to join the AVI team.
