PC introduces free financial literacy platform for students and graduates

Current and future Presbyterian College students, as well as PC graduates, have a resource to help them with their financial well-being.

PC has partnered with iGrad, an award-winning financial literacy platform. iGrad provides tools that students and graduates can use to improve their personal finances.

“Financial wellness is key to a successful life, and it is not often taught at home or in high school,” said April Baur, financial aid director at PC. “Regardless of the student’s financial knowledge, iGrad is a great resource for our students to learn more and at their own pace.”

According to Baur, 30 percent of PC students are eligible to receive the Pell Grant while 30 percent are also first-generation college students.

“iGrad is going to be a great resource for our students,” Baur said. “But the platform is not just for these groups. The great thing about iGrad is that it can empower students from all backgrounds to better manage and understand finances.”

iGrad users can get an assessment of their personal finances. Based on the assessment, the platform will recommend tools, content, and courses to match the students’ and graduates’ goals.

“iGrad offers resources for every milestone in your life,” Baur said. “For future students, it explains loan options and how to pay for college. For current students, it offers tutorials on budgeting, financing, and career planning.

“For alumni, it has great articles and videos about retirement and estate planning. It meets our families where they are in life, and it’s free.”

Current PC students, future PC students, and PC graduates are eligible to use iGrad and can access the platform by visiting presby.igrad.com/.
