The Rev. Erin Farry named Cornelson Director of Church Relations at Presbyterian College
The Rev. Erin Farry will join Presbyterian College this summer as the new Cornelson Family Director of Church Relations, bringing more than a decade of pastoral, campus ministry, and nonprofit leadership to the role.
Farry, currently serving as the Presbyterian campus minister at Furman University and a chaplain and bereavement counselor with VIA Health Partners in Greenville, will succeed Perrin Tribble Andersen ’11, who departs the college this month to take a new position.
In her new role, Farry will lead PC’s church relations program, focusing on outreach and visibility, student recruitment, service to congregations, and resource development. The position is a key part of the college’s Office of Spiritual Life and supports the mission of Presbyterian College to foster “Intentional Presbyterian Connections.”
The Rev. Dr. Buz Wilcoxon, Lassiter Chaplain and Dean of Spiritual Life, praised Farry’s selection and said she is ideally suited to strengthen the college’s ties to churches and church-related organizations.
“Erin is a gifted pastoral leader who forms community and makes deep connections wherever she serves,” Wilcoxon said. “Her energy, excitement, and deep sense of call for this unique form of ministry were abundantly clear throughout the search process. Not only does Erin meet and exceed all the requirements in the job description, she also has uniquely relevant ministerial experience in congregations and higher education institutions, particularly in South Carolina.”
Farry has been an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) for nine years. She has served as the PC(USA) campus minister at Furman since 2016, where she facilitated weekly student programs, led worship, provided pastoral care, and cultivated community partnerships. In addition to her work with college students, she has experience ministering to middle and high school youth and has been active in numerous committees of Foothills Presbytery, including co-chairing the presbytery’s anti-racism ministry team.
She also brings experience in religious fundraising, having earned an Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising from the Lake Institute on Faith and Giving at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. That certification aligns with Presbyterian College’s new strategic initiatives in partnership with the Lake Institute.
“In this new call, I am thrilled to continue my work with college students in a new and exciting way,” Farry said. “It feels like the greatest gift to have the opportunity to share the amazing stories coming out of Presbyterian College with our many church partners, prospective students, and alumni. I look forward to building on the wonderful connections PC continues to harvest and cultivate.”
As director of church relations, Farry will work closely with churches and presbyteries across the region and the PC(USA) denomination to strengthen relationships, coordinate events, and promote the college to prospective students. She will also collaborate with the offices of Advancement, Admissions, and Communications to support outreach and visibility for the college, including leading efforts around the Presbyterian Promise scholarship program.
Farry holds a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Rhodes College. She has served on multiple nonprofit and ministry boards in the Greenville area and is a recipient of the Silver Service Award from Greenville Memorial Hospital and the Robert P. Goodlin Award for Excellence in Pastoral Care from Princeton.
The search committee included the Rev. Dr. British Hyrams, Jack and Jane Presseau Associate Chaplain; Leigh Lanford ’98, executive director of admissions; Amanda Dowdle ’14, director of annual campaigns; and Ella Casto-Waters ’25, a current student and intern in the Office of Spiritual Life.
Wilcoxon said Farry’s experience in both ministry and education will help Presbyterian College live out its core mission in new and meaningful ways.
“Based on these significant attributes and gifts for the ministry of church relations, I am excited for Erin to lead us into the next chapter of living out our mission as Presbyterian College,” he said.
