About Ms. DeAnda

Dany DeAnda grew up Kailua, Hawaii where she honed her wrestling becoming a 3x state champion. Dany continued her wrestling career at the Olympic Education Center where she was a 3x Jr. World team member placing both Silver and Bronze respectively. Dany returned home to Hawaii in 2010 and began coaching at Punahou Schools and helped out with Team Hawaii.

In Fall of 2011 DeAnda joined the coaching staff at the University of Jamestown and was there until 2017. In 2018, she moved to the University of Providence where she helped build the women’s wrestling program. Dany has helped coach 16 WCWA All-American along with 6 WCWA Scholar Athletes.

DeAnda started coaching in 2008 with the Hawaii National Team in Honolulu, HI. In 2010 she spent time working with the United States Olympic Education Center in Marquette, M.I. She spent a pair of season with Punahou High Schools as the head coach before transitioning to the University of Jamestown as an assistant coach for seven seasons. DeAnda coached most recently with the University of Providence in Great Falls, MT as their assistant coach.

As a coach, she has been involved with the development and implementation of the team’s workout programs. She has also been involved in coordinating team travel and fundraising throughout her coaching time. DeAnda was also key in recruiting as she helped coordinate recruiting visits and helped with team study halls.

As an athlete, she earned a 2006 Jr. World Bronze Medalist and a 2005 Jr. World Silver Medalist honor. She also picked up a 2004 PanAm Championships Silver Medal award. DeAnda also was a three time Jr. National champion as well as a three time Fargo Nationals All-American and a 3x Hawaii State Champion.
