Student Research
Students are encouraged to contact me if they are interested in joining the Psych Hose Laboratory to gain research experience.
Each year I advise a small group of students through the research process. This can include working independently or as a group to compile literature reviews, design and program studies, submit IRBs, or collect, code, and analyze data. Honors students will also practice writing a full manuscript and be invited to present their work at regional and/or international conferences to improve their presentation skills and gain exposure to a wider array of psychological research topics and careers.
You can earn 1 to 3 credits each semester as a research assistant or honors student. You should maintain a high GPA and have excelled in previous psychology courses before pursuing research experience with a faculty member.
About Dr. Freis
I investigate attributes of self and motivation, particularly focused on trait narcissism in non-clinical populations. Specifically, I examine how the shared roots of grandiose and vulnerable narcissism can manifest into different beliefs and behaviors. I also investigate ways to improve classroom learning and rapport.
Outside of Presbyterian College, I enjoy broadway musicals, hiking, and spending time with my two dogs, Koda & Maya.
