Bio
My college experiences were academically, socially, and spiritually transformational. As a math and physics major at PC, I went on to engineering school, thinking that was the best way to apply math. In graduate school, I finally learned that business also has many exciting quantitative applications. The best part of teaching is getting to know my students and helping them unlock their hidden potential. Through my math, engineering, and statistics background, I find great joy in analyzing and combining interesting datasets and discovering patterns in the data. Recently, I have researched College Scorecard and IPEDS data as well as ESG and Fortune 500 financial performance. I also enjoy learning best practices in customer service, performance management, and personality testing for optimal performance on work teams. My husband and I have one daughter. We enjoy a variety of church activities, working out at the YMCA, and planning our next trip to Disney World.
Student Research
There are thousands of possible student research projects out there! What are you most curious about? I have worked with several students on data analytics projects with IPEDS, College Scorecard, and sports data. Applications of queuing theory and theory of constraints to improve customer service is another research interest. Nobody likes to wait in line.
