Imani: A Celebration of African American Worship

Wednesday, February 19, 2020
7:00 PM
9:00 PM
Imani, the Swahili word for faith, has been a sustaining force for many African American communities. As many worshiped in the brush harbors during the days of slavery or gathered to sing songs of freedom during the Civil Rights movement, they believed that the struggle for liberation was rooted in the character of an all loving God. Join us on this night as we hear the beautiful sounds of the Clinton College Gospel Choir, a historically black college in Rock Hill, SC & hear a message of hope from the Rev. Dustin J. Pickett, Campus Minister for Diversity at the University of Dayton. We will also host our installation of incoming officers for our Multicultural Student Union. Wear all black or African attire as we celebrate the great contributions of Africans Americans and those across the Diaspora.
