Your Health Your Way

PC Employee Wellness is a program designed to support a healthy lifestyle and includes an annual health screening and additional health promotions and resources. Beginning in January 2019, the PC Employee Wellness Program partnered with TotalWellness (Beata) to support each employee’s goals for health and wellness. This partnership will continue in 2022.

I started following the Betr Health program through My Health Novel in August 2020. This program is designed for people who want to make a lifestyle change, not start a new diet. It’s for people who want to eat cleaner and be “better not perfect.” The Betr Health Program resources are phenomenal: 30 days of coaching by phone and text, access to the Betr Health app with recipes and articles on nutrition, a free FitBit, and a free digital scale. In the past half-year, I’ve lost 45 pounds, and my overall health has improved immensely. I recommend the Betr Health program if you need a “health reboot”.

“I have been very happy with the health program offered by BCBS at PC.  To be honest, I signed up for the My Health Novel to get a free Fitbit, but I ended up getting so much more! I was matched to 3 health programs and my personal choice was the YES program with my very own health coach. The YES app made it very easy to track my weight and I was hooked by the time my Fitbit arrived. I get to pick what I want to do and it is very easy as the Fitbit communicates with my YES app. I started in February 2021 and I have lost 25 pounds. After 2 months of being on the program my bloodwork improved and my overall cholesterol was down. Even when I don’t eat 100% healthy, the YES coaches still find something good to say about my meals.  Of course, they will offer suggestions, but they are not judgmental.  I am enjoying becoming healthier and I highly recommend these free programs.”

Request a Blood Pressure Monitor

PC employees may request to check out a blood pressure monitor from the Wellness Center for up to 2 weeks at a time. In addition to the monitor, employees will receive education on correctly monitoring the blood pressure, understanding blood pressure targets, making lifestyle changes to improve blood pressure, and logging blood pressure measurements.

Request a Wellness Center Appointment

PC employees may request a Wellness Center appointment for help monitoring or to receive education related to prediabetes, diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure, and nutrition.

My Health Novel, a program offered by BCBS, is an employee benefit for PC employees at no additional cost.
