Director of Business Analysis & Project Management

Summary:
The Director of Business Analysis & Project Management is responsible for analyzing business needs and processes.  This individual will impact decision making that will enhance software applications and IT services by more effective and efficient use of college resources. This may be accomplished using new solutions or by implementing additional features on existing college technologies. This individual is responsible for IT project management, planning, milestone tracking and coordination with campus stakeholders.  This position will work closely with the Enterprise Solutions Group (ESG) as required.

Reports to Director of Information Technology

Supervision Duties: None

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Work with stakeholders at all levels to understand college initiatives, technology needs and business processes
  • Detail the requirements needed, the flow of information, and the identification of potential stakeholders and impacted systems
  • Identify current and future-state business processes, helping stakeholders to envision the future environment and changes needed to current business processes
  • Analyze and validate detailed requirements, defining a business process that is acceptable to all stakeholders
  • Facilitate the negotiation of final requirements among multiple stakeholders, seek solutions that meet requirements and recommend the optimal solution
  • Work closely with the ESG to ensure current technologies are used at maximum benefit, identify enhancements and discuss with stakeholders, analyze the impact on current business processes and determine with stakeholders if enhancements should be implemented.
  • Provide additional expertise and assistance to the ESG for user and application support.
  • Create project plans; estimating: budget, infrastructure needs, human resource needs, timeframes for project completion and establish tasks to meet those goals
  • Responsible for managing completion of tasks, deadlines and ensuring solutions or enhancements are properly implemented
  • Establish training plans as part of new projects
  • Update training materials for existing software tools
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills needed but are not limited to:

  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing
  • Ability to facilitate group discussion and negotiation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of systems engineering concepts
  • Experience in supporting and writing SQL code
  • Experience using Oracle PL/SQL and or MS T-SQL
  • Experience using Banner and other ESG applications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis
