JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the design and production of communication materials in support of the college’s marketing and communication efforts. Works collaboratively with Chief Marketing Officer, writers and other key constituents to develop and execute deliverables. This position creates and designs materials in a wide variety of formats for print and digital media for the college. This person will oversee the design aspect of projects from conception to completion in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment. The role also serves as a liaison with print and mailing vendors.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Design and create a wide range of information design documents and assets, both print and digital, including but not limited to a variety of print mailers, brochures, flyers, posters, social media assets, videos, graphics, website, email, outdoor advertising, etc.
  • Designs and produces cost effective marketing and communications materials using original artwork, photography, type, and other components as directed that are consistent with College visual standards and brand.
  • May work with outside vendors in acquiring needed materials for supplies and services.
  • Produce, capture, edit, and prepare photography and video for use in college publications using industry-standard software. On occasion required to attend events in the evening or weekends to capture photography.
  • Create, develop, produce and manage content for website and social platforms.
  • Ensures the technical accuracy of design files throughout the proofing stages and inserts changes, revises components of design electronic files with an eye for detail and correctness.
  • Maintains accurate records of work in progress and prepares final artwork for transmission to vendors and departmental archival system.
  • Prepare PowerPoint slide decks templates and presentations for key constituents.
  • Must be able to adhere to College brand guidelines and voice
  • Suggests improvements and modifies formats to increase cost effectiveness, efficiency and production quality.
  • Able to work in fast-paced, high-volume area and manage timelines.
  • Assist with website design and updates.
  • Must be able to adhere to process and workflow.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience in using design software, including but not limited to: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Premier and Acrobat.
  • Experience in print production from creation to file transfer to production a must.
  • A visual portfolio of completed past projects is required.
  • Experience in website editing and maintenance preferred.
  • Video editing and production preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and proofing skills on projects required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work in a fast-paced office.
  • A keen understanding of brand management and development required.
  • Ability and experience self-managing projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience, education or training in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the job. Minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design.
