Licensed Clinical Counselor – Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Division
Presbyterian College is seeking a licensed Mental Health Counselor to provide a full range of clinical services, outreach services and clinical supervision in support Presbyterian College’s mission.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention and case management for Presbyterian College students
- Conduct and facilitate workshops, psychoeducational groups, and group therapy on an as-needed basis
- Provide consultation to the college community regarding issues that affect the educational, developmental and psychological well-being of students.
- Provide and facilitate referrals and continuum of care coordination with the Student Health center and/or community providers
- Develop and coordinate protocols and procedures with the Director of Counseling for departmental services
- Accurately maintain client records in compliance with professional standards and ensure proper documentation within the counseling center ‘s electronic medical records system
- Assist in the supervision of interns and/or peer educators on an as needed basis
Departmental Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion’s team initiatives, staff meetings and committees as assigned
- Coordinate, develop, and monitor institutional effectiveness measures for continuous quality improvement, including but not limited to, annual goals, objectives, planning, and compiling reports
- Participate in appropriate state, regional, and national higher education professional organizations producing scholarship and providing leadership on behalf of the department
- Participate in continuing education and professional development required within areas of practice Maintain state licensure for clinical practice
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social work and current South Carolina License (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Independent Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Addiction’s Counselor)
- Two years of clinical counseling experience preferred in a college setting
- Successful background check
- Possess knowledge of current practices in student development
- Possess knowledge of ethical standards and behavior
- Ability to develop positive, proactive relationships with students and colleagues
- Ability to lead and manage projects and initiatives
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills
