Transforming the lives of youth with foster care experience, the Jacobs Scholar Program creates pathways to higher education through comprehensive support and mentorship.

The Jacobs Scholar Program provides an opportunity for students impacted by foster care at age 14 years or older (eligible for CHAFEE funds) to pursue an undergraduate degree. The program promotes academic success and degree completion through a continuous system of support and resources. Scholars receive professional guidance and educational support along with faculty and alumni mentoring.

The goal is to assure successful planning and preparation for college, followed by structured academic coaching to make a smooth transition to college and academic success.

Program Overview

Youth impacted by foster care can pursue their dream of a college education. The Jacobs Scholars Program provides economic security, academic coaching, and emotional support while attending PC. Jacobs Scholars receive a full scholarship covering tuition, fees, and standard housing and meal plan for up to four years.

Eligibility Requirements

  • A student impacted by foster care at age 14 years or older (eligible for CHAFEE Funds)
  • A foster care student between 17 – 25 years of age
  • Admission to Presbyterian College
  • Need for financial assistance
