“PC is more than a community; it’s a family.”

“The relationships that you build with friends, professors, coaches and the community are like no other,” Nebrina Harton said.

“Wherever you go, you’re going to know someone’s name or even recognize a face. It is a friendly environment all around and it just makes you feel like you are home. PC is more than a community; it’s a family.”

Does this sound familiar?

Chances are, you felt like you were part of a family at PC the same way Nebrina did.

And it’s likely that you felt that PC prepared you for life after college, just like Nebrina.

“I believe PC has prepared me for the real world by challenging me,” she said.

Nebrina has a passion for sports and business that she plans on taking into the sports marketing field. She was manager for the women’s basketball team at PC for three years and played intramurals. Later, she became the student intramural director.

Nebrina was a very involved student, from the court to the classroom. She believes her involvement made her time as a student meaningful. It’s also what she says has readied her for the real world and a career.

“My professors pushed me beyond my limits to help me gain confidence, learn how to think outside the box, and enhance my communications skills,” she said.

“Throughout my four years I always had a pretty busy workload between school work, work, and managing the basketball team. I learned how to manage my time wisely.”

Nebrina was a member of the Multicultural Student Union, the vice president of publicity for the Society for the Advancement of Management, and co-chair for the Senior Giving Campaign. She also was a student volunteer and worked in the Office of Advancement.

She said she chose PC because she wanted to go to school near home, to attain a well-rounded education with smaller class sizes, and to build close relationships with students and professors.

Because of you, Nebrina can experience being part of the PC Family.
