On Tuesday, October, 21^st twelve Presbyterian College students took the stage in Edmunds Hall to perform in the Homecoming Week event, PC’s Got Talent – a collaboration amongst SNPhA (Student National Pharmaceutical Association), the Student Union Board and the Multicultural Student Union. Students sang, danced, played musical instruments and more all in hopes of winning the $150 grand prize and being named the 2014 PC’s Got Talent Champion.

Student Pete Peterson performed stand-up comedy. No one would have guessed that this event was Peterson’s second performance as a comedian. “I like doing comedy because I come from a family that jokes a lot,” he said. “Also, humor is a good way to get things off your mind. Laughter really is the best medicine.”

Out of all 12 contestants, band player Clinton Quintet took home the grand prize and is the official PC’s Got Talent Champion. Dancer Zavier Lushington finished as the runner-up. “The competition was great. The talents were really unique and amazing. I wanted to have fun with it, but compete as well. I love dancing,” said Lushington. Tom Banks, an avid pianist was named the People’s Champion, which was chosen through text message audience polling. “I was incredibly nervous at first, but as soon as I struck the first key, it felt as if I was just playing my favorite song like always, which is what I did! I was beyond happy to be able to play this song in front of so many people, but even happier to spread such fascinating and powerful music to others. I am honored to be the People’s Champion and am thankful for everyone who participated and made the event possible,” Banks said.

PC’s Got Talent was a huge hit! There’s no doubt that the participants’ talents left students full of excitement and pumped for the remaining events of the week.
