Education students live by the PC motto, “Dum Vivimus Servimus” or “While We Live, We Serve.” In the summer before her senior year, Shelby Britt, an early childhood education major, went on a mission trip to Accident, Maryland with members of the Cherokee Presbyterian Church, where she was the children’s directory intern. Shelby worked with a group of high school students to paint a porch for a widow and her family. Shelby enjoyed mentoring the youth and said the mission trip was a great experience and was very worthwhile. Shelby is looking forward to becoming a teacher and spending her summers volunteering in the community and going on mission trips.
