The Accounting Club began with a group of students wishing to inform their peers about the accounting field through visiting speakers.

The organization meets monthly and invites professionals to talk about why they chose accounting, how their career path developed, and how they have used the accounting they learned in the classroom. Past speakers have worked at a wide variety of places such as the South Carolina Department of Revenue, the Big 4 accounting firm KPMG, and the American Heart Association.

The Accounting Club is also a great way to connect entry-level accounting students to upper-level accounting students. This network provides beginner students with the extra help they need and is a wonderful opportunity to make friends and have some fun, which might include kicking off the school year with a pizza party, holding regular meetings throughout the year, and ending the year with a golf outing that even includes instruction for first-time golfers.

If you enjoy learning about accounting careers and opportunities, we hope you will join the Accounting Club!
