Parent and Family Resources

What do I need to Know?

We understand that for many of you this is a completely new venture your family is experiencing. Although it may sometimes seem difficult or confusing in navigating our processes and knowing who to contact in each department, you are not alone!

The first step is to take it all in, read through the PC website and college materials, and ask questions when something is unclear to you. Our Offices & Services page will connect you to the different departments and provide you with contact information. Please know there are plenty of people at PC willing to offer guidance and assistance.

How can I support my student?

  • It’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the many resources that PC offers so you can encourage your student to take advantage of the people and the offices that are here to support them.
  • Remind your student they belong (and you belong too!)
  • Encourage your students to get involved, get out of their rooms, and meet new people. Also, successful students tend to stay on campus for the first six weekends.
  • Know that pursuing a degree does not mean your student will lose their family values.
  • Stay connected with our Parent & Family Programs. On this page, you will find links to our Parents Council, Parents Council Directory, Family Weekend, and more!

  • First-Generation Version:

I am a Presby First+ Advocate. I was a first-generation college student when I completed my bachelor’s degree and I am here to support our current first-generation students. At Presbyterian College, first-generation students are those in which neither parent nor legal guardian graduated from a four-year higher education institution with a bachelor’s degree. If you are a first-generation college student, please contact me anytime or visit me during my office hours. For more information about support for first-generation college students on our campus visit our Presby First+ webpage.
