She also gained volunteer experience with Personal Touch Volunteers shadowing and assisting doctors and PA during weekend sports clinics, the emergency department, and around her community. She also worked full time as a resident mentor on campus. After graduation Ashley worked as a medical assistant at Palmetto Health USC orthopedics working with several different surgeons and PAs.

What are some of your hobbies or interests?
In her free time she enjoys reading, being at the lake, hiking, farmers markets- really any activity where she can be with her dog!

Why do you want to be a PA?
Ashley’s interest in becoming a PA came from her aunt who is practicing PA in Texas and getting to see the difference that she makes in her community. “I look up to her and want to do the same for my community. I also don’t think I want to give up learning and I know being a PA means getting to be a lifelong learner.”

Why did you choose the Presbyterian College PA Program?
“As soon as I got to PC’s campus for my interview, it felt like home. The campus is gorgeous and the faculty and staff were so welcoming.”
