Hunter Townson | Physicians Assistant Doctoral Program | Presbyterian College | Clinton SCHunter Townson

PA Student
Class of 2021

Hometown: Chattanooga, Tenn.

Hunter graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2017 with a degree in exercise science. He was a member of the UTC football team and a leader of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

After graduating, Hunter worked as a patient care tech at Erlanger Healthcare System. He was also a second surgery assistant.

At UTC, Hunter volunteered at a special needs camp.

“During high school, some of the football players would go to the special needs department in our jerseys, and they would throw a mini pep rally for us,” he says.

“To see the joy on their faces truly put a special desire to work with those with needs, and I offered to help with the events at a camp during college.”

Hunter loves being outdoors and hopes to hike the Appalachian Trail one day.

“I want to be a PA because of the desire placed on my heart to help those in need of medical attention,” Hunter said.

He chose the PC PA program because of its dedication to serving others.

“I am a Christian, and PC’s commitment to their beliefs and taking action on those beliefs really stood out to me. I’m honored to get to continue that tradition.”
