PA Student
Class of 2021
Hometown: Geraldine, Ala.
Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science cum laude in Business and Marketing from Jacksonville State University in 2015. She decided to enter the medical field after graduation.
Jennifer began taking prerequisites to continue her education and began work as an electroencephalogram technician. She performed the EEG, EMG, nerve conduction, which are used within the IOM realm for Huntsville Hospital in Alabama.
She worked in this field for more than two years, then began transitioning into the application process for the Physician Assistant Program.
“I have seen so much, being given the opportunity to work in the neurodiagnostic department,” she said. “Instead of being called to perform a brain death, I want to be in the fight to prevent that moment from happening, or at least postpone the inevitable.”
Jennifer volunteered with Blessings in a Backpack, a ministry through Connect Church in Guntersville, Ala., for four years. She was moved by stories at church and decided to help provide food for children in need.
She calls her family “my rock,” and credits them for molding her into the person she is today.
Jennifer was raised on a chicken, cattle and hay farm and loves the outdoors.
Her hobbies include being outside with her Cocker spaniel, Leo, and playing outdoor- and watersports. Her Pinterest page is full of her wool-working projects.
