Othellbros and O’s Barber Shop
January 24 – 26, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. in Harper Theatre
Two one-act plays inspired by Shakespeare’s Othello written by students in the Adaptation class under the supervision of Professor Miriam Ragland.
A poetic exploration of students’ experience of the divine through movement, word, and music.
April 15 – 17, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.
This play will be created by the students in Devised Theatre, using their own understanding of and response to the divine. The creative process will be based in part on a physical theatre workshop by Blessed Unrest, a New York based experimental physical theatre ensemble generating original work since 1999, including 27 full productions (15 world premieres). Blessed Unrest is committed to producing dynamic, disciplined, and exuberant new works for the stage in NYC and abroad, by building original pieces and reconstructing established texts with their diverse ensemble of artists. They have performed at New Ohio Theatre, PS122, Public Theater, Interart Theatre, NYU, Columbia, Manhattan School of Music, Emelin Theatre, and on international tours of Albania, Macedonia, and Kosovo and will be kicking off PC’s spring semester with a weekend intensive with the students in Devised Theatre.
