5 REASONS TO ATTEND ACCEPTED STUDENTS DAY

5 REASONS TO ATTEND ACCEPTED STUDENTS DAY

Presbyterian College is set to hold its annual Accepted Students Day on Saturday, March 23. Accepted students will get a chance to mingle with current and future classmates, introduce themselves to professors and club representatives, and eat delicious meals prepared by various food trucks from the Carolinas, all while taking in the little slice of paradise that is PC. Here are 5 reasons why you should attend Accepted Students Day 2019, according to Kelsey Yeager, a senior from Greenville, South Carolina.

1. Tour the Campus

Tucked away in the historic city of Clinton, South Carolina, lies Paradise City … oh, I mean Presbyterian College. Whether it’s winter, fall, spring, or summer, PC’s campus shines brightly. Tour our spectacular campus with current students. Pick your tour guide’s brain about his or her favorite spots on campus and to get a better feel for the campus as a whole. Speak up and ask questions: Accepted Students Day is your time to ask anything you have ever wondered about college students at PC. Curious about their favorite class or professor? Want to know their go-to burrito order at our on-campus Moe’s? Just ask!

2. Learn about Opportunities on Campus

Are you interested in bowling? Fishing? Model UN? Volunteering with kids? PC has plenty of academic programs for you to choose from. And we also have clubs and organizations where you can pursue your interests and connect with kindred spirits. When I went to Accepted Students Day, I found out about PC’s connection with Thornwell Orphanage. I decided that day that I wanted to volunteer to mentor the kids who lived there. During Accepted Students Day, introduce yourself to professors from your academic areas of interest and club and organization representatives who want YOU to be their next new member!

3. Mingle with Current PC Students

Ever wondered what current students actually think about their college? Or if all of those pictures you saw on a school’s website are genuine? Well, now you have the chance to find out! After a full morning of activities, you will get a chance to relax on the East Plaza in front of Greenville Dining Hall and mingle with members of the PC community. Take this opportunity to discover what it means to be a Blue Hose!

4. FOOD TRUCKS!!!

Now if there’s one thing all students can agree on, it’s this: Free food is the best food! Current students buzz with excitement the whole week leading up to Accepted Students Day because we know the food trucks are coming! These trucks offer a little bit of everything from burgers, to tacos, to vegetarian options, and (most importantly) dessert. And the best part? When you attend Accepted Students Day, you and your family get tickets for a FREE meal and dessert!

5. Meet Other Future Blue Hose!

Many members of the PC community like to say that the people are what make PC so unique, and they’re right. The students you’ll meet on Accepted Students Day could be your best friend, roommate or mentor. On my Accepted Students Day four years ago, I met one of my best friends who ended up living with me for all four years. My friend and the others who I started to make connections with on Accepted Students Day are some of the people who shaped me into the person I am today. Seize this opportunity to meet your future classmates, and discover how your unique personality fits into PC’s community.
