Sandy Dowdle - Honorary Alumna Award

Sandy Dowdle – Honorary Alumna Award

A devoted Presbyterian College employee, Sandy Dowdle has been a part of the Blue Hose family since 1989. Now she can make it official as PC’s newest Honorary Alumna.

A Joanna native and Clinton High School graduate, Sandy first started at PC in the financial aid office, where she “hit the lottery” with mentors in her office like Judi Gillespie and Janice Noff, and with other campus greats like the late Dr. Tom Stallworth and the late Dr. Joe Gettys.

Sandy’s fondest memories are of working with students, many of whom she stays in contact with, including Janice Preston, Ivey Harrison, Mandy Judd, and Leigh Lanford, who is now executive director of admissions at PC.

After serving 18 years in financial aid, Sandy worked for four years in the IT department. She is now in her 12th year in human resources, where she had the opportunity to learn from another great mentor, Barbara Fayad. Sandy is now director of HR operations and deputy Title IX coordinator.

She and her husband, Richard, love to attend Blue Hose athletic events. They are also the proud parents of two PC alumnae – Amanda, the director of annual giving at PC, and Lauren, a teacher at Ford Elementary School in Laurens.
